Tools & Equipment
For the playground build May 9-11, we needed not only lots of volunteers, food, and beverages, but tons of tools!
The Ithaca City School District supplied all of the heavy machinery and much of the tools and equipment necessary for the build. For safety and liability, all heavy equipment (i.e., loader backhoe, auger) were provided by ICSD Facilities and Operations and used exclusively by their staff. They drove the loaders day in and day out with amazing precision! Thank you!
Thanks to the Security, Tools & Equipment committee members Dave Korb (chair), Scott Ryan, and Lilly Westbrook who worked long hours sourcing and obtaining dozens of tools, tents and other equipment, supplies, and arranging for increased security.
Thanks to all those who donated tools, equipment, and supplies including:
- Ron, Bishop's Carpet One & Pro Home Center
- Stacey, Cayuga Port A John
- Dave Korb, Ellis Hollow Community Center
- Roy, Home Depot
- Ray and Leann, Lowe's
- Ron, Staples
- Jessica, Wal-Mart
Special thanks to Frank Proto and Christian Brown, HSBC for generously covering the costs of a large (20x60) tent!
All volunteers were asked to bring a ratchet, rake, and shovel if they had them. Many did! Thank you to everyone that brought tools of all kinds! (If you're missing a tool, call the school at 607 539-7155.)
We'll long remember the mantra...RATCHET, RAKE & SHOVEL
